Meetings with the Unemployment Insurance Fund
During the first three months of unemployment, the unemployment insurance fund (a-kasse) is your main point of contact in your job search. The mandatory meetings you must attend as an unemployed person will be held with us.
Within the first few days of registering as unemployed (ledig) on jobnet.dk, you will receive a message with the time and location for your first meeting. This invitation will be sent to your inbox on Mit AKA.
After your first meeting, please note that you are expected to book all subsequent meetings yourself. We will notify you when it’s time to schedule your next meeting.
Mandatory meetings during the first six months of unemployment
- You will attend an Intro Meeting with us during your first month of unemployment.
- In the second month, you will have a Job Search Meeting with us.
- You will have another Job Search Meeting with us in your third month of unemployment.

After the first three months of unemployment – or more if you have been working, for example – the job search process (jobsøgningsforløb) is transferred to the job centre.
You are required to book and attend the meetings
If you do not book a Job Search Meeting within the set deadline, you will be removed from the unemployment register on jobnet.dk and will not be eligible for unemployment benefits. In that case, you must re-register as soon as possible.
You must also attend any meetings scheduled by Akademikernes A-kasse, your job centre, or another service provider (anden aktør). Other service providers are typically private companies that take over the job centre’s role in helping you get a job. If you fail to attend, you will not receive unemployment benefits for the missed days until you contact the organisation that invited you.
Book your meeting on Mit AKA
Whether you are going through a job search process with us or the job centre, you can book a voluntary meeting with one of our career advisers with us. On Mit AKA, you can also book workshops and events.
How to cancel a meeting
In case of illness
If you are ill on the day of your scheduled meeting with us, you must report your illness on jobnet.dk before the meeting starts. The job centre will notify us about your illness, and we will cancel your meeting.
After you register that you have recovered from your illness on jobnet.dk, you’ll receive a message from us:
- If you were scheduled for an introductory meeting, we will reschedule and send you a new time and date in the message.
- If you were scheduled for a Job Search Meeting or a Job Search and Network Meeting, our message will include a new booking deadline, and you will then need to rebook a new session yourself.
About to start a new job
You must notify us if you have signed an employment contract and you have less than six weeks until your first working day. We will then register you as being about to start a new job, qualifying you for less intensive measures.
This means that you will be exempt from job searching and attending meetings, but this exemption does not apply until we have received confirmation that you have secured a job, and there are less than six weeks left until your first working day.
If your job search process is with us, you can notify us that you have found a job here:
Tell us that you are about to start a new job
Job interviews
If you cannot attend a scheduled meeting with us due to a job interview, call us at 3395 0395 or message us via Mit AKA to let us know.
- If you had scheduled an introductory meeting, we will reschedule for another day.
- If you had scheduled a Job Search Meeting or a Job Search and Network Meeting, we will cancel your booking and notify you when you can rebook your session.
Holidays
If you are taking a holiday, you must register it on jobnet.dk. When you log in to Mit AKA, you’ll see a link at the top to jobnet.dk that lets you register your holiday.
Click on ’Meld ferie’ to learn more about the relevant deadlines and to get guidance on where to register your holiday on jobnet.dk.
You must also reschedule any planned meetings with us on Mit AKA if they are planned during your holiday. However, you can only reschedule if available time slots are within the booking deadline.
Meetings with the Job Centre
If your job search process has been transferred to the job centre and you must attend a meeting there, you must contact the job centre before the meeting.
