Are you an international graduate with a background in STEM or a related field? Are you looking to start your career in Denmark? Join our voluntary job search program and get to know Danish companies and workplaces.
Over a series of workshop sessions, you gain insights into topics such as recruitment, job interviews and working life in Denmark.
You get to meet companies and international professionals who have already built their careers in Denmark and hear about their experiences.
The programme is designed to help you get closer to the Danish job market, expand your knowledge of potential employers and take the next step in your career.

Conditions for applying
- You are a member of Akademikernes A-kasse and/or IDA
- You have an international background
- You are a new graduate with an education within STEM or similar
- You must be unemployed or work part time
We screen applications.

Different companies participate in each workshop. Check the programme to see which ones are included. The programme is updated regularly.
Week 1:
October 6, 8.30-12.00: Welcome: The Danish Job Market and Company Culture
Many people new to Danish workplaces notice that even in flat organizational structures, messages can sometimes be interpreted differently than intended.
In this workshop, we will explore these dynamics in a practical and accessible way. We look at cultural dimensions and discuss possible reasons behind common misunderstandings in a workplace setting.
The aim is to support a clearer understanding of these aspects and offer tools you can use in future situations as a helpful resource for anyone preparing for a career in Denmark.
We are joined by Eva Op De Beck, Ass. Director Talent Acquisition Denmark, from Fujifilm.

Heidi Ås, Business Developer in IDA with focus on internationals, who have many years of experience with intercultural collaboration in a Danish setting as well as a lot of insights on internationals in Denmark, not least regarding insight in the reality of IDA members' working life.
October 7, 9.00-12.00: Skills and Motivation: How to match your skills and passion for the Danish job market
As a graduate, knowing what skills are of value for a potential employer and how to communicate them is one of the keys to getting a job.
In this workshop, we focus on:
- The difference between your professional skills and personal skills
- How to understand what skills you have gained from your studies, jobs and other activities and how to communicate them to your potential employer
- The importance of your personal skills and understanding how to brand yourself based on your personality
- Why your motivation is essential for a Danish employer and how to include it in your story

Week 2:
October 12. 9.00-12.00: Onboarding internationals in a Danish workplace
How can you best navigate the many unwritten rules of the Danish workplace? Get to know the dos and dont's.

October 14, 9.00-12.00: Use AI in your Job Hunt
AI can assist you in your job hunt, both as a co-writer of your application and as an assistant who helps you practice for the job interview. This workshop gives you hands on and useful tips and tricks for using AI effectively on your job search.

October 15. 9.00-12.00: How to Use Your Network
Networking can be a powerful tool in your job search. But how do you get started? In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use and expand your network.
We will dive into:
- What networking really is – and why it works,
- How to activate and use your existing network in your job search, and
- How to approach and build new connections in a natural and professional way.
You don’t need to be outgoing or already know the “right” people.
This workshop will give you insights and hands-on tools to help you get started – in a way that suits you.

The seminar is facilitated by career consultant Emilie Lindquist from IDA. It's a mixture of theory, tools and exercises. You'll meet an international guest who will tell his story on how to use and build your network in Denmark and a company representative, who will tell you why networking is important in your professional career.
Week 3
October 20, 9.00-12.00: The Job Interview
You have made it through a pile of applicants to the job interview. How do you now prepare for the interview?
In this workshop, we address the techniques for succeeding in job interviews in a Danish context.
We look into:
- What a job interview is and how to prepare mentally for it
- How to prepare your initial presentation
- How to have good examples ready
- How to handle some of the typical tricky questions
- Insights from Novonesis and what they observe from the employer’s perspective
- Inspiration from international graduate who has successfully navigated a Danish interview process

October 22, 9.00-12.00: Presentation Techniques - pitch your skills and motivation
In this workshop, you learn how to prepare an effective presentation and what to expect during the interview process. We will also cover what you can do after the interview to leave a positive and professional impression.
You get the opportunity to try out your presentation and get feedback from an experienced HR professional.
