3. Your data

You can always go to Mit AKA on our website, www.aka.dk and see much of the basic information we have registered about you. Here, you can also correct, update and submit new information to us.

If you find that Akademikernes A-kasse has incomplete or incorrect information about you, please contact us so we can correct it.

4. Processing consequences

When you apply for membership of Akademikernes A-kasse, the data we process may show that you do not meet the conditions for membership, and we may therefore have to reject your application.

When you are a member of Akademikernes A-kasse, situations may arise where there is doubt about your right to receive benefits. This can be unemployment benefits (dagpenge) and other benefits you have already received or will receive.

Doubts may arise based on information you have given us or that we receive from, for example, your job centre, the Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment (STAR), SKAT, or other public authorities. In such cases, we may ask you to provide an explanation before we make a decision.

Even if there is doubt about your eligibility for unemployment benefits, we are not permitted to simply stop your payments. If it turns out that you were not entitled to the benefits, you will be required to repay the amount to us. Interest will be added to the repayment amount if the amount exceeds an amount equivalent to four weeks of unemployment benefits.

You are obliged to provide us with the information we need to assess your eligibility for unemployment benefits, early retirement benefits (efterløn), tax-exempt premiums or other benefits we administer.

In some cases, we can only collect information about you, for example from your employer, if you have given your consent. If so, we will try to obtain this in writing and you will have one week to respond to our request. If you do not consent, we will make a decision on the basis of the information currently available.

5. Transfers to countries outside the EU/EEA

We do not transfer your personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA.

6. Automated individual decision-making system

We employ an automated individual decision-making system to ensure that cases are processed as quickly and correctly as possible. Our IT system automatically assesses and approves applications when it has information showing that the application for benefits, admission, etc., can be fully met.

We use automated decisions in the following situations:

a) Approval of unemployment benefits applications when the calculations show that the maximum unemployment benefit rate can be paid;

b) Approval of holiday benefit (feriedagpenge) applications when the calculations show that the number of days requested can be paid;

c) Payment of unemployment benefits, early retirement or EEA unemployment benefits when calculations show that there is no income from work that needs to be deducted, or that work, holidays or sickness have already been registered with Akademikernes A-kasse or the job centre;

d) Approval of admission to Akademikernes A-kasse when the calculations show that admission can take place on the requested date;

e) Approval of status change from student to graduate when the calculations show that the request has been made on time and other conditions are met;

f) Approval of extension of free student memberships when the calculations show that the requested extension can be approved.

If you appeal a decision or want your application processed manually, your application will be reviewed by an Akademikernes A-kasse employee.

7. Mandatory information

All information marked with * above is necessary and mandatory for you to provide to Akademikernes A-kasse in order for us to:

a) assess whether you meet the membership requirements when you apply for membership;

b) manage your membership with us, including case processing, consultation procedures, delivery of services covered by your membership, payment of benefits and verification of those payments;

c) manage your participation in events and startup offers provided by Akademikernes A-kasse.
