We develop services and advice to prepare you for the labour market of tomorrow, where many of us will change jobs far more frequently than we did before.
We contribute so that you feel that we are there for you as a member in key situations when your working life changes. Both when you choose the change and when you lose your job.

Number of members and other facts
Members
We have over 315,000 members, making us Denmark’s largest unemployment insurance fund (a-kasse) for academics.
The Danish Society of Engineers (IDA) and Djøf are our two largest member organisations, representing about two-thirds of Akademikernes A-kasse’s members.
Employees
Akademikernes A-kasse has about 280 employees nationwide.
Our administration and management are based at the head office in Copenhagen.

Akademikernes A-kasse (AKA) was established on 1 July 2013 as a result of a merger between Akademikernes A-kasse (AAK), founded in 1974, and Ingeniørernes A-kasse (IAK), founded in 1973.

Your unemployment benefits (dagpenge) are administered by our team at the head office in Copenhagen, working closely with our regional offices in Aarhus, Odense, and Aalborg.
We also have offices in Herning and Esbjerg. We are ready to welcome you and answer your questions across the country.

Akademikernes A-kasse’s Executive Committee is elected by the Representative Committee and consists of Akademikernes A-kasse’s chairperson, two vice-chairpersons and eleven non-executive members, a total of fourteen members.
The Chairperson receives DKK 187.832,61 in remuneration per year, and the vice-chairpersons receive DKK 94.431,65.

Representative Committee
The Representative Committee is Akademikernes A-kasse’s supreme authority and consists of the Chairperson and representatives of the professional organisations.
Members elect the Representative Committee, which in turn elects the Executive Committee and chairperson.
