Receiving unemployment benefits
You are eligible for unemployment benefits (dagpenge) from your first day of unemployment if you meet the requirements. You can familiarise yourself with these requirements here.
As an employee, you can receive unemployment benefit if you
- are registered as unemployed on jobnet.dk
- have been a member of an unemployment insurance fund for 12 consecutive months or more
- meet either an income requirement or an employment requirement.
- meet the requirements regarding availability and job-seeking
If you meet the conditions for receiving unemployment benefit and have qualified for a new benefit period, your benefit rate will also be calculated based on your most recent employment.
You can only have a rate calculated once you have qualified for a new benefit period.
If you have previously received unemployment benefit and have not qualified for a new benefit period, you will continue under the previous benefit period, provided it is still valid.
