Social Assistance (kontanthjælp)

Social assistance is a public benefit. You apply for social assistance if you are ineligible for unemployment benefits or unable to support yourself.

You apply for social assistance at your municipality on the first day you are unemployed. They are responsible for approving your application and disbursing the social assistance.
