Preliminary approval

Preliminary approval (forhåndsgodkendelse)

Your education is considered complete when you receive your final grade.

You may be considered to have completed your education earlier, if you can obtain a preliminary approval (forhåndsgodkendelse).

A preliminary approval is a document confirming that your examiner and supervisor have approved your thesis, even though they have not yet agreed on the final assessment and grade. Your preliminary approval is valid from the date your examiner and supervisor sign the approval.

A preliminary approval is useful because it usually takes a few weeks before your examiner and supervisor give their final assessment of your thesis. With a preliminary approval, you can apply for unemployment benefits before you receive your final grade.

Remember to change your status  no later than 14 days after you receive your final grade, or from the date your examiner and supervisor signs your preliminary approval.
