Employment supplement

Employment supplement (beskæftigelsestillæg)

I you are eligible for receiving unemployment benefits, you can receive employment supplement (beskæftigelsestillæg) of up to 4,157 DKK per month (2025) for the first three months you are unemployed, provided you meet these 3 conditions:

  • You have been a member of an unemployment insurance fund (a-kasse) continuously for the past four years, before becoming unemployed,
  • Your salary income qualifies for an unemployment benefit rate of more than 23,886 DKK (2026), and
  • You have had 2 years of employment within the last 3 years. This means you must have worked 3,848 hours or earned 573,264 DKK (2026) over the last 3 years. You can include a maximum of 23,886  DKK per month (2026).

If you meet the 3 conditions above, you can receive up to 26,198 DKK (2026) of unemployment supplement per month for the first 3 months of unemployment.
