The eligibility period (dagpengeperiode) is the timeframe during which you can receive unemployment benefits.

Unemployment benefit period for employees or self-employed members

An unemployment benefit period consists of 3,848 hours (the equivalent of 2 years full-time on unemployment benefits) within a 3-year period.

This means that if you receive unemployment benefits for 3,848 hours, or if the 3 years have passed, your unemployment benefit period is over.

Unemployment benefit period for graduates

As a graduate, you are entitled to unemployment benefits for a period of 1,924 hours (the equivalent of 1 year full-time on unemployment benefits) within a 2-year period.
