Rules for Job Searching and Job Log
Keeping your job log correctly updated demonstrates that you are actively seeking work and therefore qualified for unemployment benefits (dagpenge).
You must meet the job search requirements while unemployed (ledig). If you are covered by full-time insurance, you must actively search for a full-time job. If you are covered by part-time insurance, you must search for a job with at least 30 working hours a week.
You must conduct a serious and realistic job search – this means applying for all jobs for which you are qualified. If there are not enough jobs within your professional field that match your skills and experience, you must expand your search both professionally and geographically.
Our job search requirements
- You must apply for at least 1-2 jobs per week, ensuring you have applied for at least six jobs when looking back over the past four weeks.
- The workplaces must be situated in Denmark.
- At least three out of the six jobs must be full-time positions.
- After three months of unemployment, at least three out of six job applications must be for advertised positions.
Update your job log on jobnet.dk
You must register all your job applications in the job log on jobnet.dk at least once a week. This ensures that you continue to receive unemployment benefits. If you fail to update the job log, you get a reminder from us.
Be aware that you receive unemployment benefits on public holidays that fall on weekdays. Therefore, you must also be actively job seeking on public holidays unless you have registered that you are on holiday on jobnet.dk.
Additionally, at least every four weeks, you must upload an example of a job application and a CV you have sent to the job log.
What counts as job search?
There are many ways to look for jobs, but not all methods qualify as job searching in the job log. The following qualifies as job searching:
- Applying for an advertised position
- Unsolicited applications
- Networking with or being contacted by a person with hiring authority
We assess your job search as an individual evaluation during our meetings.
You can get advice on structuring your CV and job application, organising your job search and what to remember when preparing for an interview.
Job searching when you are about to start in a new job
If you have secured an agreement on an ordinary full-time job and will begin within the next six weeks, you may qualify for an exemption (fritagelse) from job searching and meetings.
