Receiving unemployment benefits

You are eligible for unemployment benefits (dagpenge) from your first day of unemployment if you meet the requirements. You can familiarise yourself with these requirements here. 

As an employee, you can receive unemployment benefits if you:  

• Register yourself as unemployed on jobnet.dk. 
• Have been a member of an unemployment insurance fund (a-kasse) for the past 12 months. 
• Have had an income of at least DKK 273,504 (2025) over the past three years while also being a member of an unemployment insurance fund. You can include a maximum of DKK 22,792 per month (2025). 
• Meet the job search requirements and update the job log.
